Four ways for lake homes to reduce nutrients into Lake Delavan
- Only use no-phosphorus fertilizer on your lawn and gardens. Be sure to check the fertilizer bag when you purchase fertilizer. Look for the package formula of nitrate-phosphorus- potassium, such as 22-0-15. The middle number representing Phosphorus should be 0.
- When mowing you lawn, avoid blowing the grass clippings into the lake. (Make sure your Landscaper does also).
- Keep leaves and other plants out of the lake.
- Sweep up grass clipping and fertilizer spills on drive way and other hard surfaces.
