Four ways for lake homes to reduce nutrients into Lake Delavan

  1. Only use no-phosphorus fertilizer on your lawn and gardens. Be sure to check the fertilizer bag when you purchase fertilizer. Look for the package formula of nitrate-phosphorus- potassium, such as 22-0-15.  The middle number representing Phosphorus should be 0.

  2. When mowing you lawn, avoid blowing the grass clippings into the lake.   (Make sure your Landscaper does also).

  3. Keep leaves and other plants out of the lake.

  4. Sweep up grass clipping  and fertilizer spills on drive way and  other hard surfaces.
